"Presence painting Performance is an augmented portraiture to catch the presence of the model on different medias, painting is the most powerful medium". At each performance he creates an XL painting on canvas called the MATRIX (200x170cm).

James Arax creates "PRESENCE PAINTING XS", a series of small paintings -21x17cm- on paper

Each "Presence painting" on canvas is associated with a series of 10 to 25 PPXS on paper.

As a part of the performance, after each session with a person-model, James Arax uses the still fresh pictorial material from the MATRIX painting - artistic and sustainable!

Muses & Women inspire James. They are ubiquitous in his artworks. Her presence or souvenir merges with the surface of his paintings.
