This XL painting in soft colors inspired by the Norvegian fjords is perfect for a cosy atmosphere. The long blue and pink drips invites you in a fantastic journey in peaceful and snowy, icy landscapes…

… While painting, James travels through a Norwegian girl’s story, somehow this is her abstract portait. James imagines the fjords of Sognefjord and Hardanger in Western Norway. For James, the fjord crystallizes the immense power of nature. He expresses it in the balance between colored drips and white canvas splitting the canvas vertically like the original glaciers. The white of the canvas is an important component of this painting.

The artistic result is soft, peaceful and luminous!

… «The great painting does not require a lot of paint but a lot of vacuum » James Arax. As Art critics say, James creates a kind of cartography of the person, here he let her write « Skâl » which means cheers, he draws her little village in yellow.

The spirit of Northern Europe, frozen landscapes and brightness of the snow can fit in various interiors, bringing a kind of living window.

James likes to mix liquidity and solid pigments on canvas. Blue is one of the color James explores in his large scale abstract paintings.
