... The model who inspired James is a very quiet person, she had a calming effect on him. The stripes of the paint evoke her sailor sweater that become drips in James OpenFlow style. In the more intense part of the painting, some critics told him they see a peacock in blue, a very graceful aristocratic bird in Europe, the peafowl is native to India.
James called this painting the girl wirth the « Sailor sweater », « Pull marine » in French like the song from the 80’s composed by Serge Gainsbourg for the talented actress Isabelle Adjani.
