Dream of Amazone
DREAM OF AMAZONE - A form emerges from the mist, a form from another age, a female figure in samurai armor. is this the mythical, Tomoe Gozen the “onna bugeisha”?, or female fighter, the best known. This formidable horsewoman would have led the army of her samurai husband during the Genpei war in the 12th century.
We can attest to the existence of female samurai in Japan during the Bakumatsu period, that is to say a period of unrest just before the Meij era.
