ECUADOR
Series of XL paintings realised after an Artistic residency in Ecuador thanks to Sr Alvaro Noboa, a patron of the arts in his country.
Like in a movie scenario, James met this patron at a diner in London and he invited him to visit his country with a personal driver and bodyguard!
James gives his own sensation of the Ecuadorian landscapes, Altiplano, Guayas river, Volcanos like Tungurahua, Chimborazo, alligators, the people from Hacienda Clementina, the Indians from Cuenca to Baños and the particular feelings of Guayaquil’s city and sky, always cloudy but very bright, almost blinding.
James, as a very good colorist, perfectly captured all the new colors, variations, landscape he encountered.
