… This painting is inspired by a woman met during the opening of a contemporary art exhibition in the cellars of the Pommery champagne house in Reims, France. « I only saw her in the crowd, her long figure and her red hair. A virtual painting has been already created in my head, I cannot resist this picture which imposes itself on me. Fifteen days later she came to my studio in Paris - le Marais for the Presence painting performance ». JA

The fluorescent pink evokes the neon lights in the Champagne Pommery caves. What is incredible is that these caves of champagne were built from real gallo-roman crayères, 30 meters below ground. Gallo-roman architecture spans the centuries.
